Gingerwood Houses are made of solid pine boards with a food-safe coating of food-grade mineral oil and beeswax. This protects the wood and makes it easy to wash. Each house is handcrafted in Massachusetts and measures 4.5" x 4.5" x 7" (11.4 x 11.4 x 17.75 cm).
You can decorate your house with frosting and any treats you like. Just put the house on a plate and pipe or spread the frosting directly on the wood (we use store-bought regular frosting). Then press the candies, cereal, crackers, etc into the frosting. You can display your Gingerwood House for days, weeks, or however long as you'd like. Since the wood and coating is food-safe, feel free to nibble at the candy!

Rinse and Reuse
When you're ready to clean your Gingerwood House, just rinse it with hot water until the frosting and candy begin to soften and come off. Use your hands or a soapy sponge to gently wipe the house. Do not use scraping tools or you might scratch the wood. You can use a toothpick to get frosting out from under the roof overhangs. Dry with a towel and let air dry completely before storing.
