The Story

A New Twist on an Old Tradition

A few years ago, my sister wanted to start a new family tradition of decorating gingerbread houses with her kids. As the crafty aunt, I offered to make the houses for them. I tried different methods over the years, from baking real gingerbread cookies to gluing graham crackers onto milk cartons. But none of them worked well. They were either too time-consuming, too messy, or too fragile. I wanted to find a better way to enjoy this fun activity without the hassle of building the houses every time or dealing with store-bought kits falling apart before the construction frosting dried.

That's when I got the idea of making reusable gingerbread houses out of wood. I used my miter saw and some wood to create sturdy and cute houses that could be decorated with frosting, candy, cereal, and more. I called them Gingerwood Houses!

Now my nephews and niece love decorating their Gingerwood Houses every Christmas. They don't have to wait for the house to set or worry about the crackers falling off or the roof caving in. They can just focus on the fun and creativity of spreading on frosting and attaching candies. And the best part is, they can use them again and again!

Cute, but so much work!

Not cute, and still a lot of work
